I Kissed Her Goodbye
Verse I
We’ve been apart for such a long time.
And the days we spent together.
They are just distant memories.
You said, “I don’t know you anymore.”
And I can’t help but agree,
Chorus
Now, is the time to get out into the great unknown.
We were acting tough and tried not to cry.
But they’re playing that old song we heard so long ago.
And suddenly, I started to realize.
That she will find another man to hold her.
And wipe her tears away from her eyes.
So, I said farewell to her, and kissed her goodbye.
Verse II
We watched our ship sail along together.
But when the endless seas began to drain and dry.
I found a new love, so fresh, like flowing water.
Why was she left there looking at the sky, asking why?
Chorus
Now, is the time to get out into the great unknown.
We were acting tough and tried not to cry.
But they were playing that old song we heard so long ago.
And suddenly I started to realize.
She will find another man to hold her.
And wipe her tears away from her eyes.
So, I said farewell to her and kissed her goodbye.
Verse III
Love may come and go like the changing seasons.
But as I searched, I found out that there is something more.
In an everlasting love other than a friendship.
Who is standing all alone outside my door.
You were there all alone outside my door?
